WELCOME TO SUMMER SCHOOL! HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:


WHAT IS SUMMER SCHOOL?
This is an independent study program where you will be assigned online courses to make up
credit you have failed in the past. Students will also be able to earn original/new credit.


WHEN DOES SUMMER SCHOOL BEGIN AND END?
The first day of summer school is June 5th, 2023. The last day to enroll in summer school is
June 15th at 1pm. The last day to complete assignments and take tests is June 28th at 1pm.


SUMMER SCHOOL HOURS
Monday - Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.


HOW MUCH DOES SUMMER SCHOOL COST?
There is NO cost for summer school this year.


WHERE DO I STUDY?
Students have the option to complete their online coursework from home or on-site at
Southwest Education Academy 844 S. 475 W. Chromebooks will be available on-site but will not
be checked out for home use.


WILL TEACHER SUPPORT BE AVAILABLE?
Yes! Highly qualified teachers will be available in Math, Science, English, and Social Studies.
We will also have outreach coaches who will help students stay on track with their online
courses. Teachers will be available onsite from 9am-1pm, Monday - Thursday.


WHEN WILL SUMMER SCHOOL CREDIT SHOW UP ON MY TRANSCRIPTS?
Students completing credit will receive a letter grade on their transcript. Earned credit will be
sent to the student’s boundary school upon completion of summer school.


HOW TO REGISTER FOR SUMMER SCHOOL?
Students can be referred to summer school by their boundary school counselor.


HOW MUCH CREDIT MAY I EARN DURING SUMMER SCHOOL?
There is not a limit on classes that can be taken. Please note that ONLY one .25 credit course
will be assigned at a time and must be completed before the next course is assigned.

Utah Online Registration Information:

Two options: 

1.  Original/New Credit: Parents register students for these classes by following instructions on their flyer. A video on how to register for the SEATs portion is attached.

SUU Early College:

Students can sign up and take Early college classes at a discounted rate. At the end of the summer students must bring to their counselor their official SUU transcript to get the college courses they took in the summer added to their high school transcript.
